What might it indicate to have white splotches on your fingernails.?

I have white splotches on my fingernails and think it may be an indication of calcium buildup. I'm into supplementation and believe I take plenty of magnesium which should take care of such a problem. I'm curious if others may have had the same experience and know of a remedy. What might it indicate to have white splotches on your fingernails.?
White spots on nails are usually a lack of zinc. What might it indicate to have white splotches on your fingernails.?
i live in a town with a company that makes zinc, all kinds of it, mostly pharmaceutical. anyways it used to spew dust into the town and years ago they did tests on residents (and we had white sort of stripes on our fingernails( like a trees rings ). they found it to be cadmium and zinc...like the kind they make batteries from.

whatever you have, might have coated your bones..like cadmium %26amp;zinc does and as fingernails grow they reveal this. try not taking supplements,or look for environmental contaminants, it might take a while to grow out a full length fingernail though, hope ya find your answer ;)
